10 euro 2025 Proof SANTORRE DI SANTAROSA

Greek collectible silver proof coin with a face value of 10 euros, for the SANTORRE DI SANTAROSA, maximum number of 1,000 pieces, Bank of Greece mint, issued in 2025. Count Santorre di Santarosa (1783-1825) was a military officer and politician from Piedmont, Italy, and an ardent patriot, who fought many battles for Piedmont’s independence from Napoleonic France. A champion of Italy’s unification, he was inspired by democratic-liberal ideas that brought him into conflict with autocratic regimes; he joined the Carbonari, and in 1821 played a leading role in a constitutional movement in Piedmont. After the failure of the revolt, he was arrested but escaped, ending up in Great Britain, where he came in contact with the London Philhellenic Committee. Profoundly moved by the Greeks’ struggle for freedom, he decided to travel to Greece in 1824. He joined the Greek army as a simple soldier with the alias Derossi. In 1825, Santarosa participated in the Pylos campaign against Ibrahim, landing on Sphakteria island on 7 May. In the battle that followed on the next day, fighting heroically, he was killed, along with many others.

10 euro 2025 Proof 200 Years from the Death of Laskarina Bouboulina

Greek collectible silver proof coin with a face value of 10 euros, for the 200 Years from the Death of Laskarina Bouboulina, maximum number of 1,500 pieces, Bank of Greece mint, issued in 2025. Laskarina Pinotsi (better known as Bouboulina, after her second husband’s surname) was born in Constantinople in 1771 and grew up on the maritime island of Spetses. She inherited an immense fortune from her two husbands, Dimitrios Giannouzas and Dimitrios Bouboulis, and spent it all to finance the Greek Revolution. She was one of the few women to be admitted to the Friendly Society (Philike Etaireia), which masterminded the revolt. As soon as she was initiated, she started to procure military equipment, also building the 18-gun brig Agamemnon as flagship of her flotilla. At the same time, she recruited and paid for a private army of fellow islanders from Spetses. Bouboulina’s flotilla participated in the siege of Nafplio, where she later settled on land donated by the Greek government in recognition of her services. She also took part in the sieges of Monemvasia and Tripolitsa. However, after the civil war, her plea to the government to release its imprisoned opponent Theodoros Kolokotronis led to her banishment to Spetses. She was killed there in a family feud in 1825.

We welcome you to the e-shop of collectible coins KYRITSIS COINS, based in Athens and distinguished in the field of collectibles, having authentic and certified items that meet the requirements of even the most demanding collector!

We are a family business founded in the early 1960s by Stavros Kyritsis, being the first coin shop in Athens, on Areos Street in Monastiraki Square.

Our founder published the first Greek price list in Greece for the modern Greek coins of the period 1828 to 1967, offering important information and details to the collectors of Greek coins. The publication of this price list essentially gave the impetus to start the collector movement in Greece.

Since 1974, the coin collecting company KYRITSIS COINS has continued its course with Konstantinos Kyritsis, always, with respect to its tradition and history, but also to the collectors. The same philosophy continues to this day, with Stavros Kyritsis to have the reins now, from 2021.

For more than 60 years we have been offering our services to the coin collecting community, with reliability, specialized knowledge and valuable experience, contributing to the development of a hobby that many love and is – as it has been proven – an excellent investment!

At KYRITSIS COINS, in Athens, we have a huge variety -perhaps the largest stocks- of collectible coins and banknotes. In our store, but also in our e-shop you will also find stamps, medals, awards and other types of folk art, which serve not only collectors but also merchants.

As part of our services, we make free valuations of coins and other collectibles, while we also buy entire collections!

Our business – which was one of the first members of the Panhellenic Monetary Union in 1976 – always runs with consistency, integrity and honest treatment of the collector! We thank you for your trust.
