Greek bronze commemorative medal from the collection of medals engraved by Konrad Lange, dated 1836.
The medal depicts on the obverse the conjoined busts of King Otto and Queen Amalia surrounded by the inscription “OTHON KING AND AMALIA QUEEN” and on the reverse a mantle with a crown embracing the coats of arms of Greece and Oldenburg with the head of the Goddess Athena between them. At the bottom the Bavarian lion and around the inscription “IN PEACE WE CALL GOD” and “OLDENB.THI 10 NOVEMBER/ 1836.

One of the 12 medals created in 1836 by the German artist Konrad Lange (1809-1856). They depict moments and symbolic representations of the 1821 struggle for independence, figures of Greek chieftains who pioneered the national liberation struggle, governor Ioannis Kapodistrias and the first kings.
